Short or/and long distance.

I’m maxing 4,000 words a day for the past five days writing…and I’m feeling it. Maybe it’s time to flex my fingers a bit more! Carpel tunnel syndrome won’t stop me. I posted a short story on critique site not long ago, and I received suggestions to turn it into a novel. It had a lot of unanswered questions a short story and probably not even a novella would cover. That’s my biggest challenge writing short stories. I love it. The added writing only improves my craft. I have four short stories that I’m not comfortable with the climax…so I’m plotting an outline for them as well.

When it comes to writing any story, I want to answer all questions I think the readers want to know.  If it’s a series, of course, I want to leave a hint of what would’ve or what will happen at the end, but not too abrupt. This point, writing short stories has benefited me because it has allowed me to brainstorm and gather the origins of a story. Sitting down and writing longhand until my fingers ache, which is the truth lately. Call me old school!
