Happy Earth Day!
Earth Day should be everyday. The more I venture into nature, the greater respect and appreciation I gain for the wild environment and its inhabitants. At the same time, I worry about what is happening to the wilderness and the creatures that live in it. With the time I have spent hiking, kayaking, wandering about on flat trails, in mountains, along rivers, lakes, and in oceans, the more I realize I am a part of this planet with the animals, trees, plants, insects, and that it is essential to protect their home, because their home is my home; we are all one.
Words can’t give justice to what can be experienced first hand while being in nature. For me, it is in the moment. This moment is gone with a snap of my camera, or a blink. I capture what I witness in the moment, but still pictures cannot give these views justice. This is why I have to get out in nature and enjoy more moments. Each one is original. However, I will continue to capture its beauty the best I can, as I have in my nature and wildlife pictures below:

I rest and enjoy the view through the valley.

A wild horse drinks water in the marsh

I reached the lake just as the sun was setting.

Iguana, camouflaged nicely.

A hawk watching over the trees.
